Inspired by the classic 2008 flagship running shoe, the 1906, this model is a faithful reproduction by the New Balance archives; it retains the original full-length N-ERGY shock-absorbing capsules and ABZORB SBS cushioning midsole, delivering a solid, stable feel and highly responsive support.
The upper features a multi-layered construction of engineered mesh, synthetic leather, and TPU support panels, balancing breathability with structural integrity; the side "N" logo and "wing-like" TPU heel wrap enhance brand recognition, while deconstructivist styling creates a futuristic aesthetic.
The midsole utilizes a dual-cushioning system (ABZORB + N-ERGY) with a heel-to-toe drop of approximately 1cm, providing flexible rebound and arch support; it accommodates both heel-strike and forefoot-strike running styles and offers corrective support for mild overpronation or supination.
The outsole is crafted from N-durance abrasion-resistant rubber with an irregular tread pattern, ensuring excellent traction across various surfaces such as concrete, stone paths, and grass.
Weighing approximately 350g per shoe, it offers a pressure-free fit that minimizes fatigue during extended wear, making it suitable for commuting, casual outings, and light hiking (trips of 15–18km).
The last is relatively wide, making it a great choice for those with wide feet or high insteps; users with narrow feet should stick to their standard size or try the shoes on first to prevent forefoot slippage.
